Last year Hudson Technologies’ partner AprilAire transitioned fully to the exclusive use of reclaimed refrigerants in its refrigeration systems...

Hudson Technologies, Inc., a leading provider of innovative and sustainable refrigerant products and services to the Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration industry – and one of the U.S.’ largest refrigerant reclaimers – has become a Chemical Producer Partner in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s GreenChill Advanced Refrigeration Partnership.

GreenChill is a voluntary EPA partnership program that works cooperatively with the food retail industry to reduce refrigerant emissions and decrease their impact on the ozone layer and climate change. Hudson is participating in GreenChill’s Corporate Emissions Reduction Program, which partners with food retailers, refrigeration system manufacturers, and chemical producers. With its participation, Hudson commits to promoting the adoption of environmentally friendly retrofit chemicals and secondary fluids used in commercial refrigeration.

Commenting on the development, Brian F. Coleman, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hudson Technologies, said, “Hudson is pleased to have this opportunity to join the GreenChill Partnership to further our commitment to initiatives around the use of more environmentally friendly refrigerants. Through our EMERALD Refrigerants line, we fulfil industry-wide cooling system demand for refrigerants with recovered and reclaimed product, providing a sustainable solution and promoting the circular economy of refrigerants. We look forward to bringing our reclaimed refrigerants, our system conversion, and energy efficiency expertise to the program to support the transition to greener refrigeration and cooling system alternatives.” Hudson Technologies pays full attention on refrigerants and how they impact chiller performance.
