Trane – by Trane Technologies, a global climate innovator, has recently completed its redesign of the Precedent Rooftop Unit portfolio, and updates to well-known unitary, split systems and variable air volume products. Two new indoor unit styles have also been added to the Trane/ Mitsubishi Electric HVRF product line, a market-first all-electric Variable Refrigerant Flow (VRF).

Commenting on the development, Oakley Roberts, Vice President of Product Management at Trane, said, “Decarbonization is easier when HVAC equipment is easy to install, easy to use, and easy to operate with low global warming potential refrigerants. Trane is making it easier for building owners, engineers, and contractors to help make headway in all these areas with additions to the market-first all-electric HVRF, more rooftops and split systems that are equipped with low-GWP refrigerants, and the completion of the next-generation Precedent line that help consistently deliver on expectations.”

Trane has added two families of indoor units to the line of Trane / Mitsubishi Electric HVRF, the only all-electric hybrid VRF unit available on the market. The HVRF system uses a combination of refrigerant to connect outdoor units to the Hybrid Branch Controller (HBC) and water to connect the HBC to indoor units.
