Recently in an interaction with PTI, Mukundan Menon, Managing Director of Voltas, a listed or public company and part of the leading Indian multinational Tata group, informed that the company is expecting air conditioner prices to go up by 5 to 15% this year – owing to increase in copper prices and the rupee weakening against the dollar.

The country’s leading air-conditioning manufacturer, having a market share of around 18% in the domestic market, expects domestic AC sales to grow by 15 to 20% in 2026 over last year, which turned out to be exceptionally bad for the entire industry.

According to Menon, the company is putting effort to make AC units more efficient due to energy label change this year that has also played a role in the increase in the production cost.

Voltas is India’s largest air conditioning company and offers a comprehensive range of cooling and home appliances including Air conditioners, Dry iron, Commercial air conditioners, Coolers, BLDC fans, Refrigerators, Water coolers, Water heaters, Commercial refrigerators, AC stabilizers and others. The company provides comfort and convenience to millions of households across India.
