
At MWC Barcelona 2026, Huawei has officially launched innovative Large Temperature Difference Cooling System and co-published the White Paper on Large Temperature Difference Cooling Systems with the International Industry Organisations. This solution reimagines cooling architecture to help global customers build green, low-carbon data centers, achieving an optimal balance between energy efficiency and cost.
As global data center scale and energy consumption surge, PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) requirements have become increasingly stringent. With traditional water-cooling reaching its physical limits, the industry is transitioning toward high-efficiency solutions to meet mandates such as PUE ≤ 1.25 for new projects.
Against this backdrop, Guo Dazheng (President of R&D, Huawei Global Technical Service), Chen Haijun (Green IDT owner of Huawei Standards Industry Development Dept), and Xi Xingjian (General Manager of Huawei Data Center Facility Industry Domain) joined Massamba Thiove (Principal Consultant, UGIH) and Paolo Gemma (Chair of ITU-T SG5 WP2/5) to unveil the new white paper.
In the event, Massamba Thiove, Principal Consultant, cited the white paper, which proposes an energy-saving path: improving the performance of cooling systems is critical for data centers as almost 100% of the power consumed by a data center is transformed into heat, which is the shadow of computing. Innovative cooling solutions are needed for the further development of AI.
