Atlas Copco, the company offering a wide variety of oil-free and oil-lubricated compressors for industrial use, has recently acquired Climorent, a provider of specialty rental solutions for industrial cooling applications, in Catalonia, Spain.
Atlas Copco, which has been turning industrial ideas into business-critical benefits since 1873, has taken over Climorent based in Barcelona with its 15 employees. The purchase price has not been disclosed yet.
Climorent mainly serves customers in general industry, including chemical and food and beverage industry. In 2022, the company had revenues of approximately 2 MEUR (21 MSEK based on the average exchange rate in 2022).
Commenting on the acquisition, Andrew Walker, Business Area President Power Technique, Atlas Copco, said, “Climate change is fuelling increased demand for efficient cooling solutions in industrial and other applications. Climorent has a strong local footprint within rental industrial cooling solutions and has potential for further growth.”
