How has Parker Hannifin business in India evolved over the years?
Parker Hannifin India was established in 1993. We have six manufacturing locations catering to different Parker product groups which are motion and control technologies, filtration, instrumentation, fluid connectors and engineered materials. Our distribution network is spread across the country. For over 85 years the Parker Sporlan Division has set the industry standard for the development and manufacture of leadingedge high-quality HVACR components. We have introduced many innovative products over the years and have been supporting OEM as the technologies have evolved.
What are the products you offered in India for HVACR industry?
We offer wide range of controls and valves for refrigeration and air conditioning applications from our Sporlan brand which includes Expansion valves – Thermostatic and Electric, Pressure Regulators, Hot Gas Bypass Valves, Solenoid Valves, Ball Valves, Accumulators, Receivers, Filter Driers, Vibration Absorbers, Sight Glass and Level Controls. We also pioneer in controls and valves for industrial refrigeration applications which includes Pressure Regulators, Hot Gas Defrost Valves, Electric Valves, Solenoid Valves, Shut off Valves, Safety Relief Valves and Valve Stations. We have introduced Zoomlock flame free fittings for HVACR which is a unique product intended to help faster and safer copper connections.
What is Zoomlock? Can you elaborate on the technology?
ZoomLock flame-free refrigerant fittings are the faster, easier and safer way to join copper tubing in HVACR applications for pressures up to 700 psi. ZoomLock fittings work with exclusive crimping technology, so there is no brazing needed. One technician can quickly do the connection job alone without a torch, permits, or fire safety equipment.
Using specially designed ZoomLock crimping tools, technicians just connect the deburred tube ends into the fitting (which has o-rings inside) and press the assembly into place for a secure, leak-free seal. It requires no brazing or adhesives, just the crimping tool and the fitting. ZoomLock fittings are available from 1/4” to 1-3/8” as Couplings, Slip Couplings, Long Radius Elbows, Tees, Reducers, Caps, SAE flares, Reducing Bushings, Long Radius Street Elbows, 45-degree Elbows, Y-Joints and P-Traps. ZoomLock flame-free fittings have jaws available for RIDGID compact series press tools. Also, ZoomLock compatible ball valves, solenoids, filter-driers and moisture indicators are available, and when used with ZoomLock make your job of joining copper tubes simpler and faster. The biggest benefit is improved efficiency, more productivity and increased safety at work.
How do you see the demand for your products in India?
India is an emerging market and demand for cooling products will see multi-fold increase. There is wider focus on food conservation and energy saving. How your company is making strides with advanced technology?
With respect to HVACR technologies, Sporlan has been leading changes in technologies, we were one among the first to introduce electric motor valves for expansion and pressure regulation. Now, we have introduced Zoomlock which is changing the way copper connection are made and helping HVACR technicians worldwide. IoT is something, we are looking forward to and have introduced smart tools for HVACR system diagnosis and data collection to help improve performance and efficiency.
