REHVA together with VELUX Group has launched the ‘Healthy Homes Design Competition’. This brand new initiative aims at stimulating the minds of young and future engineers to identify solutions on how to realize healthy homes.

As urban population in our major cities is rapidly growing and the demand of dwellings is significantly increasing, an urgent need to reduce the impact buildings have both on their occupants and on our planet is rising.

Starting exactly from this well-recognized issue among both practitioners and researchers, the Healthy Homes Design Competition wants to encourage and challenge to explore the theme of healthy living – and to create a deeper understanding of indoor environmental qualities as well as exploring the impact of future climate changes.

“Residential buildings are more and more equipped with advanced building service systems that promote health and energy-efficiency; that is a major reason why REHVA decided to join forces with the Velux group and organize this healthy homes design competition,” informed dr. ir. Atze Boerstra feelgood building specialist, bba managing director & vice-president REHVA. Interested people can have further information from www.healthyhomesdesigncompetition.com.
