Blue Star’s strides with advanced technology
Senthil Thangam: Blue Star is India’s leading air conditioning, commercial refrigeration and MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire-fighting) contracting company with 76 years of experience. The company strives to stay ahead of the technology curve— invests heavily in R&D mainly to unleash technology that is ahead of times in every category. On the commercial air conditioning front, Blue Star offers the Next Generation inverter ducted system which is capable of saving up to 25 per cent power compared with the conventional systems. On the VRF side, the company has introduced the 5th generation VRF which apart from being advanced on the technology front is also designed for high ambient Indian temperature and erratic power conditions. The company also offers oil free centrifugal chillers which are capable of part load power consumption of 0.29 KW per TR. Besides, the company provides remote monitoring service whereby it can monitor the air conditioning systems at clients’ premises from its service centre. This technology allows the company to track machines even in smaller towns and provide the right inputs to the service team, thereby, enabling the customer to not only have trouble free machines in their premises but also maintain the systems so that they run in high efficiency mode and offer substantial power savings. Blue Star believes in offering products and services with advanced technology which add value to the customer in terms of benefits to the running cost and offer the future ready sustainable products.

Srinivas Reddy: On the refrigeration front, the company’s commercial refrigeration portfolio has already migrated to eco-friendly refrigerants, with its manufacturing and supply chain adopting new technologies and processes to be able to deliver energy efficient and eco-friendly products. Apart from the right portfolio, there is a critical need for robust after-sales network, given the nature of segments that the company serves. Blue Star has deployed several digital measures to enhance end-to-end customer experience, apart from strengthening back end service infrastructure. For example, Blue Star has deployed standby refrigeration vans in metros to offer 24X7 support to its customers. Many more of such initiatives are undertaken by the company from time to time.
