How Hans Industrial Corporation’s refrigerants businesses in India develop over the years?
We have just started our operations and will be launching our refrigerant products in Indian market by this year. As an organisation, we have always been oriented towards sustainability and environment protection from the very beginning of our work with other group of companies. The environment friendly refrigerant option gives us an opportunity to directly address a critical environmental issue facing by refrigeration and air conditioning industry.

India’s compliance with the Montreal Protocol’s Kigali amendment means that high-global-warming hydrofluorocarbons (HFC) and hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC)-based refrigerants will be phased down in favour of next gen refrigerants. So, what are the refrigerants offered by the company?
We are mainly focusing on hydrocarbonbased refrigerants with low global warming potential as potential replacements to replace all the refrigerants such as, HCFC and HFC in present use. Most of our products are dropin substitutes for HCFC and HFC refrigerants in current use. Our products are combinations of hydrocarbons with negligible global warming potential. We have also pure hydrocarbon refrigerants like propane and isobutane as the base of our product portfolio.

What are the trends in the Indian refrigerants market? What transformations have you witnessed in the refrigerants market over the years?
In India, the phase out of R134a with R600a is the most promising transformation observed in domestic refrigerator market. At present, the refrigerant R32 has dominating the domestic air conditioners, which has global warming potential of 650. The only possible low global warming potential refrigerant is R290. Godrej, one of the leading Indian air conditioner manufacturers is manufacturing the residential air conditioners using R290. Automobile air conditioners are another potential sector, which uses R134a. Presently, the imported cars are using R1234yf. Both R134a and R1234yf are having major environmental impacts like global warming. Even though, the R1234yf has short life span, the sudden decompose of R1234yf will form TFA, which will spoil aquatic system. Our refrigerant product HCR134a with low global warming potential has good dropin replacement to phase out R134a. The other commercial and industrial air conditioners are working with R22, R410A and R32, which needs to be phase out soon. Our refrigerant product HCR22 has similar performance with R22, which will be used as drop in substitute.

Hans Industrial Corporation is equipped with HCR22, HCR134a, R600a and R290. How do you see the demandfor these refrigerants in India?
According to Kigali agreement 2016, the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump manufactures should phase out the fluorine refrigerants with high global warming potential. Hope, the Hans refrigerant products with negligible global warming potential will fill the vacuum as drop-in substitutes.

What potential do you envisage for Hans Industrial Corporation’s HYDREON Refrigerants with the rise in concern for global footprint of refrigeration industry in emission of greenhouse gases?
The climate change is more noticeable all over the world. The biggest challenge has moved from Ozone protection to reduction of emission of greenhouse gases. We are focussed directly to address this problem by offering environment friendly refrigerant options, which have negligible Global Warming Potential.

How your company is making strides with advanced technology?
All our refrigerant products are patented products, which we are bringing into the Indian market with the help of our Korean partners. Our products are aimed at replacing not only the current generation refrigerants but also the next generation options like R1234yf proposed by various companies. Moving ahead, we expect good potential for our refrigerant products in Indian market. Moreover, the refrigerants are distributed through composite cylinders with lightweight, highly compatible and free of maintenance.

How about the refrigerant compatibility with system components and lubricant?
The Hans refrigerant products are compatible with all the components of the system and also miscible with lubricants.

How about the availability of refrigerant products?
The refrigerant products are available in 10 kg packing.
